MD Man Dies From Injuries Sustained During I-395 Collision
Metropolitan Police Department detectives reported the death of Anthony Edward Nickens of Capitol Heights following a Friday morning crash.
WASHINGTON, DC — A Capitol Heights, Maryland man died Monday from injuries he sustained when the construction flatbed truck he was riding in early Friday morning was struck by a box truck on Interstate 395, according to a police release.
Anthony Edward Nickens, 44, was riding in the bed of the flatbed truck with another man when their vehicle was struck around 4:30 a.m., by a box truck traveling southbound on I-395, near Exit 2. D.C. Fire and EMS transported Nickens and the other man to an area hospital for medical treatment.
On Monday, Nickens succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
