MD Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash In Ivy City

D.C. Police are investigating a traffic fatality involving a motorcycle that took place Friday morning in Ivy City.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives from the Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating a traffic fatality involving a motorcycle and passenger vehicle that took place early Friday morning in Ivy City, according to a police release. Police identified the decedent as Charles Lamar Keeve, 28, of La Plata.

Following a preliminary investigation, police determined that Keeve was riding a motorcycle at a high rate of speed, when he struck a passenger vehicle between the intersection of New York Avenue and Fairview Avenue, Northeast. D.C. Fire and EMS confirmed that Keeve displayed no signs of life and he was pronounced dead on the scene. Keeve was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Police are continuing to investigate this case.
