MD Man Killed In Sunday Morning Shooting: DC Police

D.C. homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a Glenarden, Maryland man in the Washington Highlands on Sunday.

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that took place early Sunday morning in the Washington Highlands, according to a police release. MPD identified the deceased victim as Keith Rawlings, of Glenarden, Maryland.

Officers from the Seventh District were dispatched around 2:49 a.m., for the report of the sound of gunshots in the 800 block of Chesapeake Street, S.E. They found Rawlings inside of vehicle in the 4200 block of 7th Street, S.E., suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS determined Rawlings displayed no signs of life and transported him to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
