Metro Causes Huge Problems for Washington Nationals Fans During Game 5
WMATA's decision to close up shop early left thousands of Nats fans stranded -- and prompted some to leave early.
WASHINGTON, DC — National League Division Series, Game 5: the Washington Nationals are trying to battle back at Nats Park to win the series and head to Chicago for a chance at the World Series, and fans are starting to stream for the exits.
Why? Because the stadium announced that the last Metro train was about to leave.
"Nats' fans are streaming out of the stadium to catch the last Metro," tweeted New York Times columnist Juliet Macur at 11:10 p.m. Thursday, when the game was still an hour from being over. "And just when the Nats need them the most. Good job, DC."

In the past, Metro has extended its hours for late Nationals, Capitals or Wizards games -- but no more. Metro decided earlier this year that it would be moving up its closing time to midnight, and it would no longer offer those extended hours.
Nats fans certainly weren't happy with this new reality, chanting "Metro sucks" after the announcement went out over the loudspeaker.

If there's one chant that Nats, Dodgers, Capitals, Rangers, Penguins and whoever's fans can agree with, it's "Metro Sucks."

Not only are Nats fans distraught over their team, they'll have to pay 700 bucks on mega surge uber pricing b/c Metro shut down hours ago
