Metro Service on Columbus Day 2016: What Your Commute Will Be Like in DC
Metro will be making some adjustments to both its rail and bus service for the federal holiday.

The Metro rail system will be operating on a special Columbus Day schedule this Monday, WMATA announced this week, so be prepared if you plan to head into work anyway as many people will be.
The rail system will open at 5 a.m. and close at midnight on Monday, Oct. 10, and trains will operate at Saturday service intervals, which means that they will run every 6 to 12 minutes during daytime hours, according to a WMATA statement.
Parking at Metro-owned lots and garages will be free, and off-peak Metro fares will be in effect all day long.
