Metro's Harshest Critic Slammed ... For Defending Metro

UnsuckDCMetro was on the firing line for his comments in support of Metro after they were accused of helping white supremacists.

If you enjoy D.C. area social media drama, the Unite the Right rally at the White House over the weekend kicked up one heck of an online argument that is still going on.

Twitter user @UnsuckDCMetro is used to being the one who dishes out harsh criticism of the Metro system to his followers. But this week, he or she was on the firing line after coming to Metro's defense on one issue -- how the agency handled the arrival of "Unite the Right" rallygoers in Northern Virginia and D.C.

Metro received a huge backlash after reports surfaced that despite promises that there would be no special train for attendees of the white supremacist rally at Lafayette Park near the White House, witnesses reported seeing them get a special police escort and their own train car to the event. There were only about 25 attendees. Also, police reportedly closed down an entrance at the Vienna Metro station and made it available only to white supremacists.

UnsuckDCMetro, who has nearly 85,000 followers, normally finds fault in just about everything Metro does. But not this time.

"Metro is sh**. Metro sucks. Metro kills. Metro is incompetent Metro is learning disabled. The list of their fails is long," UnsuckDCMetro wrote. "BUT The notion that Metro is somehow in cahoots, supports or helps white supremacists is luidcrous [sic]."

The argument caused a stir among his followers, with some outright accusing him of racism.

"I thought unsuck was toning down on his racism but here we are," wrote Aaron Landry.

He wasn't the only one. Scores of other users chimed in to complaint about the account (the creator has remained anonymous) coming to Metro's defense for once.

It caused some bemusement from UnsuckDCMetro: "Hey @Metrorailinfo, have someone contact me for my payment for defending you a**hats today."
