More Than 100 Without Power in DC as Winds Sweep Through Area
Pepco is working to get a handle on scattered outages in the D.C. area, and the problems could get worse as the day progresses.

WASHINGTON, DC— As gusting winds blow through the Washington, D.C. area, local utility Pepco is reporting some scattered power outages in the District as of Monday morning, and residents should be on the lookout for more power outages as strong winds continue.
With wind gusts of up to 45 miles per hour Monday along with heavy rain, power outages will be a risk for the whole region. At 7:10 a.m., Pepco reported a power outage affecting 142 customers in Southeast D.C., with power restoration expected by noon.
A power outage affecting 22 customers was reported in Northeast just before 10 a.m., with power restoration slated for 1 p.m. A number of other small power outages have been reported in Northwest and Northeast.
