Arrest Made In Feb. 27 Fatal Shooting Of 32-Year-Old Michael Whitehead Of Hyattsville, MD

D.C. homicide detectives charged a suspect in the Feb. 27 fatal shooting of 32-year-old Michael Whitehead of Hyattsville​, Maryland.

WASHINGTON, DC — D.C. homicide detectives arrested 33-year-old Darrow Johnson of Clinton, Maryland in connection with the Feb. 27 fatal shooting of 32-year-old Michael Whitehead of Hyattsville, Maryland, according to a police release.

Whitehead was found around 5:10 a.m., on Feb 27, suffering from a gunshot wound, in the 100 block of N Street, Northwest. Metropolitan Police Department officers had been called to the Sursum Corda area for the report of a shooting.

D.C. Fire and EMS took Whitehead to a nearby hospital for treatment, but he later died from his injury.

On Thursday, police charged Johnson with second degree murder while armed.
