New Metro Pass Honors Servicemembers
Metro unveiled limited-edition Heroes SmarTrip card to recognize Veterans and Servicemembers

Metro released a new limited-edition SmarTrip card late last week to recognize Veterans and Military Family Month.
In anticipation of Veterans Day next Monday, Metro and the Department of Defense (DOD) unveiled the metro card in a push to encourage the public to learn and understand more about the military.
The card features all five branches of the military and the hashtag #KnowYourMil, which is an initiative launched by DOD meant to help bridge the civilian-military divide and clear up misconceptions about military life.

"Metro is proud to honor our military service members and veterans who serve and protect our country," Metro General Manager Paul J. Wiedefeld said in a statement. "Here in the nation's capital, our military and their families are also our customers, and it is an honor for Metro to serve our nation's heroes," he continued.
Military Family Month takes place every November and recognizes all military families and their sacrifices to the nation.
