Northeast Man Charged In Benning Area Shooting: Police Report
D.C. Police detectives arrested a Northeast man in connection with a Feb. 22 shooting in the Benning area of the city.
WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives from the Sixth District arrested a Northeast man in connection with a February shooting in Benning, according to a police release.
On Saturday, Feb. 22, around 4:15 p.m., the victim and suspect were involved in an altercation in the 3800 block of Minnesota Avenue, N.E. The suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and fired a shot. The victim was not struck and the suspect fled the scene.
Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, detectives arrested Anthony Cobbs, 32, of Northeast, on Sunday, March 8, and charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon (gun).
