2nd Degree Murder Charge Filed In Connection With February Fatal Shooting Of DC Woman
D.C. homicide detectives arrested 23-year-old Ronnie Thorne of Northeast in the Feb. 22 fatal shooting of Southeast woman.
WASHINGTON, DC — Members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 23-year-old Ronnie Thorne of Northeast on Monday. He was in connection with the fatal shooting last month of 34-year-old Miana Luckett of Southeast in the Truxton Circle area, according to a police release.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fifth District responded around 3:39 p.m. on Feb. 22 for the report of a shooting in the 1500 block of North Capitol Street. That's where officers found Luckett suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
D.C. Fire and EMS personnel took Luckett to a nearby hospital for treatment, but she later succumbed to her injuries and was declared deceased.
