Metropolitan Police Department arrested a Northeast man Friday in connection with the Nov. 15 unarmed robbery of a Hillcrest area bank.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives and the FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force arrested a man they say robbed an M&T Bank last month in the Hillcrest area, according to a police release.

Demetrius Coleman, 44, of Northeast, was arrested in connection with the Nov. 15, robbery of the M&T Bank located in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue, S.E. Police say Coleman entered the bank around 1:45 p.m., and passed a note to the teller asking for money. After the teller handed over the money, Coleman fled the scene.

Acting on a U.S. District Court arrest warrant Friday, officers arrested Coleman and charged him with unarmed bank robbery.
