Northeast Man Dies From Gunshot Wound: DC Police

Homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Michael Bright Tuesday night in Deanwood.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Tuesday night in Deanwood, according to a police release. MPD identified the deceased victim as Michael Bright, 30, of Northeast.

Officers from the Sixth District responded around 9:08 p.m., for the report of the sound of gunshots in the 1100 block of 45th St., N.E. They found Bright suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS took him to a nearby hospital, but all lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any persons responsible for committing a homicide in the District. Police ask anyone with information about this case to call 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous tip by text to 50411.
