Northeast Man Killed In Saturday Night Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Saturday night in the Hillbrook area, according to a police release.

Around 11:04 p.m., officers from the Sixth District responded to the 4500 block of Clay St., N.E., for the report of a shooting. They found an adult male unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS assessed the victim and found no signs consistent with life. The victim was later transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Police identified the decedent as DeJohn Evans, 28, of Northeast.
