Northwest Man Charged In Mount Pleasant Homicide

D.C. police arrested a Northwest man Monday in connection with the Sept. 30 fatal shooting of 33-year-old John Pollard.

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a District man in connection with the Sept. 30 fatal shooting of 33-year-old John Pollard, of Northwest, according to a police release.

Officers from the Third District responded around 1:14 a.m., on Sept. 30, to the 3200 block of Hiatt Place, N.W., in Mount Pleasant for the sound of gunshots. They found Pollard suffering from a gunshot wound. After examining him, D.C. Fire and EMS determined that he had died.

Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant Monday, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Randle Price, 28, of Northwest, and charged him with first degree murder while armed – felony murder. This case remains under investigation.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any persons responsible for committing a homicide in the District. Police ask anyone with information about this case to call 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous tip by text to 50411.
