Northwest Man Charged In Park View Fatal Stabbing Case: DC Police

Homicide detectives accused a Northwest man in connection with the Nov. 5 fatal stabbing of Jamaul Crockett in Park View.

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a Northwest man Wednesday in connection with the Nov. 5, fatal stabbing of 36-year-old Jamaul Crockett, of no fixed address, according to a police release.

Officers from the Fourth District responded around 4:16 a.m., to the 600 block of Lamont St., N.W., for the report of a unconscious person. Arriving on the scene, they discovered Crockett suffering from an apparent stab wound. D.C. Fire and EMS examined Crockett and determined he had died. He was later transported to the Office of the Chief Examiner.

MPD arrested Aaron Jackson, 40, of Northwest, Wednesday, and charged him with second degree murder while armed.

Police released Jackson's record, which included previous arrests for assault with a dangerous weapon, wimple assault, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, distribution of a controlled substance, identity theft, fugitive from justice, failure to appear, UCSA distribution cocaine (crack), unlawful entry, UCSA distributing heroin, and UCSA possession of marijuana. When Jackson was arrested, he was under the supervision of the District's Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency.
