Northwest Man Fatally Shot In Brightwood: DC Police

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting of a Northwest man Thursday afternoon in Brightwood, according to a police release.

Officers from the Fourth District responded around 4:35 p.m., to the 6200 block of 8th St., N.W., for the report of a shooting. They found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported the man to a nearby hospital, but all life-saving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead. MPD identified the deceased victim as Arthur Daniels IV, 42, of Northwest.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any persons responsible for committing a homicide in the District. Police ask anyone with information about this case to call 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous tip by text to 50411.
