Northwest Man With Gunshot Wound Goes To Hospital, Later Dies: Police
Renard Thornton, 48, of Northwest dies after showing up at a Washington, D.C. hospital on Friday night with a gunshot wound, police say.

WASHINGTON, DC — Renard Thornton, 48, of Northwest died Friday night after he sought treatment at a Washington, D.C. hospital for a gunshot wound, according to a police release.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were called around 5:26 p.m., to the 200 block of Upshur Street, Northwest for the report of a shooting. Although evidence indicated that a shooting had occurred, no victim was found.
Police were notified by an area hospital that Thornton had walked-in seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. All lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who supplies information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in the District.
