Nude Models Create Incredible Body Paint Portraits in Front of DC Monuments [PHOTOS]

A New York-based body paint artist has created some eye-popping portraits of landmarks in the District.

WASHINGTON, DC — A New York City-based artist is creating artwork like you've never seen before using D.C.'s famous landmarks, from the White House to the Lincoln Memorial.

Trina Merry, an artist who specializes in body paint, has painted up nude models so that they perfectly blend in with the background when the photo is taken at the right angle, giving them the illusion of transparency as they strike various poses.

She posted several of these portraits on her Instagram accounts, with models posing in front of the White House, Washington Monument, Supreme Court, Jefferson Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial.

Merry has used the trick before. There is another photo on her Instagram of a woman painted up to blend in with the backdrop of Florence, Italy behind her. Another one includes a model blending into the Brooklyn Bridge.

You can view more of her work here. Her D.C. portraits are embedded below:

"Jefferson Memorial", Sweet Land of Liberty Series Model: @emmaearnest Assistant: @jessicameleon Something I've been struck by during this election process is how Trump attacked women and then women put up defenses and aggressively attached back in a masculine energy. What if we tried something a little more yin & yang, and instead worked inside a feminine energy? What would that kind of a protest look like? Perhaps loving, inclusive, vulnerable, intimate, soft... I love this image as an example of that contrasting energy- for me this represents Power versus Freedom. On exhibit at the Edward Hopper House "Small Matters of Great Importance" (framed 8x12" only $150. Other sizes available in online shop with a 30% off discount this week- link in bio).
