Obama Officiates Wedding In DC: Report
A small wedding of about 120 people at District Winery featured a very familiar face as officiant.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Former President Barack Obama served as the officiant of a small wedding in D.C. on Sunday, according to a report.
The Washingtonian reports that Obama wed Dana Remus, general counsel for the Obama Foundation, and Brett Holmgren, who worked with Obama at the White House, in a small wedding of about 120 people at District Winery in the Navy Yard neighborhood.
“We had decided to invite him because he was such an important part of our lives, we asked him if he could attend the wedding,” Holmgren was quoted as saying in the report. “We also asked him if he could officiate, and he was intrigued with the idea.”

The couple had a backup officiant if Obama wasn't able to make the ceremony. In fact, most guests at the wedding apparently didn't know he was even going to be there.
Obama received a temporary officiant's license through the District of Columbia, and he signed their marriage certificate. Michelle Obama was unable to attend.
