Oxon Hill Man Killed In Shooting Near Catholic University: Police

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect in a homicide that took place Friday morning near Catholic University, according to a police release.

On Friday, Feb. 28, around 8:52 a.m., officers from the Fifth District responded to the 700 block of Monroe Street, N.E., for the report of a shooting. Arriving on the scene, officers found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital by D.C. Fire and EMS for treatment of life threatening injuries. All efforts to save his life failed and the victim was pronounced dead.

Police identified the decedent as De’mari Twyman, 21, of Oxon Hill, Maryland.

MPD released photos of the suspect that were captured by a nearby surveillance camera.
