Paul McCartney is Coming to the Verizon Center

The legendary Beatles singer has just announced an Aug. 9 tour date here in D.C.

The one and only Paul McCartney will be making an appearance in our nation's capital this summer, but you'd better hurry if you want tickets.

McCartney has confirmed that he'll be making his first appearance in Washington, D.C. since performing at Nationals Park in 2013, stopping by Verizon Center on Aug. 9 during his One On One tour, according to an April 19 statement on his official website.

Pre-sale tickets to see the legendary former Beatles singer went on sale at 10 a.m. April 20 on Ticketmaster. You can hurry and get one or two before sales open to the general public by using the pre-sale password 1ON1WITHPAUL, according to the statement.

"As with the launch of every new Paul McCartney tour, 'One On One' has unveiled a dazzling re-designed set, and dozens of classics from the most beloved catalog in popular music, spanning Paul's entire career--as a solo artist, member of Wings and of course as a Beatle—and no shortage of surprises," the statement reads.

The show promises "nearly three hours worth of the greatest moments from the last 50 years of music."

Tickets for the general public will go on sale April 25 at 10 a.m.

McCartney's "One On One" tour just began April 19 in Vancouver, and will move through the midwest through the spring and arrive on the East Coast in mid-July. McCartney will be in East Rutherford New Jersey Aug. 7 before the D.C. show, and will head to St. Louis afterward for an Aug. 13 performance.
