Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Northwest: Police
Police say 23-year-old Jonathan A. Ramos Ayala ran into the southbound lanes of Georgia Avenue.
WASHINGTON, DC — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in Northwest over the weekend.
Police responded to the 5300 block of Georgia Avenue in Northwest at around 3:05 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2 in response to a traffic accident, according to a report from the Metropolitan Police Department.
Police say the driver was headed south on Georgia Avenue when "a pedestrian ran out mid-block in the southbound lanes, and was struck by the vehicle," the report states.

The pedestrian was sent to a local hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after. The man was identified as 23-year-old Jonathan A. Ramos Ayala of Northwest.
The report adds: "This case remains under investigation. The Metropolitan Police Department is asking anyone with information about this case to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the departments TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411."
