This Penny Could Earn You $1,000 in DC -- If You Can Find It
Online bank Ally is leaving 100 lucky pennies in 10 cities, including D.C., as part of a new marketing campaign.

WASHINGTON, DC — Don't be so quick to overlook that copper coin lying on the pavement -- it may earn you a thousand dollars.
Online bank Ally has launched a marketing campaign that involves leaving "Ally Lucky Pennies" worth $1,000 each in 10 cities across the nation, including in D.C., according to an Ally statement.
A total of 100 Ally Lucky Pennies will be scattered across the 10 cities, and each are redeemable for $1,000. From a distance they look like regular pennies, but they are clearly different from pennies when viewed up close, with an Ally logo on the front and the number 100,000 on the back (for the amount of real pennies it is worth).
