Metro Train, Bus Service Still Bypassing Pentagon Transit Center

WASHINGTON, DC — Metrorail and Metrobus service to the Pentagon Transit Center will continue to be closed on Wednesday to allow for the police investigation of Tuesday's shooting incident to continue, according to a post on Metro's official Twitter account.

The Blue and the Yellow train lines will bypass the station, according to Metro. In addition, all buses to and from the PTC will operate from the Pentagon City Station at S. Hayes St. near 12th St. S.

Police were still investigating the incident that began Tuesday morning with a Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) officer being attacked and fatally stabbed at the the transit center.

The Metro entrance to the Pentagon also remained closed on Wednesday morning, according to a post on the PFPA's official Twitter account. Visitors and tenants can enter the building using corridors 2, 3, and 8.

The Army shuttle to Pentagon City is picking up and dropping off passengers at the corridor 3 entrance, according to a post on PFPA's official Facebook account. The following changes in service are as follows:

  • WMATA 7M is running on its regular schedule; however, it has been relocated to southbound S. Hayes St. at 12th St.
  • The Pentagon Rosslyn shuttle (Route 14) was not operating on Wednesday.
