WASHINGTON, DC — Pepco is offering customers opportunities to give back locally on Giving Tuesday and during the rest of the holiday season through its Good Neighbor Energy Fund and Gift of Energy programs.

The holiday season will be difficult for many D.C. residents as they continue to face financial hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Giving Tuesday, observed this year on Tuesday, Nov. 30, is a global movement to inspire hundreds of millions of people to not only give to their favorite charities and nonprofit groups, but also to recognize and celebrate the generosity of others.

Through Pepco’s Good Neighbor Energy Fund, customers can support local nonprofit organizations that provide payment assistance to customers who may be facing hardships. Donated funds are disbursed to qualified recipients. Pepco matches customer donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $100,000 annually.

Customers can contribute to the Good Neighbor Energy Fund directly through their Pepco bill by paying exactly $1 over their bill amount. The amount a customer contributes must be exactly $1 over their billed amount; amounts over $1 will not be recognized as a contribution and will result in a credit to the customer’s account. Customers can make a $1 contribution each time they pay their Pepco bill.
