Person Of Interest Wanted In Southeast Armed Kidnapping

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives from the Kidnapping Squad are asking the public's help in identifying a person of interest in connection with an armed kidnapping that took place Thursday in Washington Highlands, according to a police release.

Around 1 a.m., a man entered the victim's vehicle in the 3800 block of 9th St., S.E., brandished a handgun, and forced the victim to drive to various locations. The man took the victim's property before fleeing on foot.

MPD released photos of a person of interest in connection with this case. The man was last seen wearing blue jeans, red and white tennis shoes, a green coat, and a black mask. Police say he is known to frequent the 9th Street, Southeast area.
