Petworth Sexual Abuse Suspect Caught On Video: DC Police

WASHINGTON, DC — Detectives from the Sexual Assault Unit of the Metropolitan Police Department are asking the public's help in identifying a suspect caught on video in connection with a Sept. 6 sexual abuse offense in Petworth, according to a police release.

Around 1:55 p.m., the man assaulted the victim in the 800 block of Quincy St., N.W., and then fled the scene, according to police. MPD is investigating the case as an assault with the intent to commit first degree sexual abuse.

MPD released a video Wednesday of the suspect, whom they describe as a Black man, 28-35 years of age, and 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-two in height.

Police ask anyone who can identify the man in the video or who has information about the incident to call 202-727-9099 or text an anonymous tip to 50411.
