Police Charge Suspect In 2 Robberies, 2 Thefts In Northwest
Metropolitan Police Detectives charged a Southeast man with four separate offense that occurred Sunday afternoon in Northwest D.C.
WASHINGTON, DC -- Metropolitan Police Department detectives from the Fourth District charged a suspect in four separate offenses, two robberies (snatch) and two thefts, according to a police release. All four of the incidents took place Sunday, Jan. 12, in Northwest, D.C.
The first robbery incident occurred at about 12:15 p.m., when the suspect approached the victim, who was in their vehicle, in the 5600 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. The suspect smashed the window of the victim's vehicle with a metal pipe, took their property and fled the scene.

The second robbery took place around 1:08 p.m., when the suspect approached the victim's vehicle, which was in the 6800 block of Piney Branch Road, Northwest. Using a metal pipe, the suspect smashed the victim's window, took their property and fled the scene.

The first theft took place around 1:25 p.m., when the suspect took the victim's property from their vehicle in the 6900 block of Maple Street, Northwest, and fled the scene.
The second theft occurred around 1:35 p.m., when the suspect forcibly entered a vehicle in the 7600 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest, and took the victim's property before fleeing.
MPD officers arrested Edward Swails, 28, of Southeast, on Jan. 12, charging him with two counts of Robbery (Snatch) and two counts of Theft Two
