Police Seek Identity Of Suspect In Mt Vernon Square Homicide

Metropolitan Police Department detectives are seeking information about a Wednesday night fatal shooting in Northwest.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating a Wednesday evening homicide that took place in the Mount Vernon Square area, according to a police release.

Officers from the Third District responded to a call Jan. 8, at around 11:33 p.m., to a report of the sound of gunshots. Arriving on the scene, they found a male suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS personnel transported the victim to an area hospital, but life-saving efforts failed and the victim was pronounced dead. Police identified the decedent as Malick Cisse, 18, of Northwest.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of any persons responsible for a homicide in D.C.
