Post-Thanksgiving Snow In DC? Shocking Forecast From The Farmer's Almanac
A remarkable forecast suggests that D.C. might see some of the white stuff a few days after Thanksgiving.

WASHINGTON, DC -- No weather forecaster can reliably see more than a week out, but the Farmer's Almanac is making an interesting prediction for D.C. next month: snow just after Thanksgiving.
You read right: even though temperatures continue to make it feel like spring in late October, a sudden dip in temperatures late in November and a lot of precipitation could result in snow just after Turkey Day in D.C., at least in the northern part of the District.
Specifically, the Farmer's Almanac forecast calls for rainy and mild conditions between Nov. 1-3, a few sunny and cool days Nov. 4-6, heavy rain followed by sunny and cool conditions Nov. 7-11, rain and then a sudden dip in temperatures Nov. 12-18, more rain Nov. 19-24, and then rain with wet snow to the north Nov. 25-30, with the southern part of the District experiencing sunny and mild temperatures.

The Farmer's Almanac predicts a warm and wet winter for the area this year, with above-normal precipitation but below-normal snowfall.
"The coldest periods will be in late December, early and mid-January, and early and mid-February," the almanac states for nearby Reston (no detailed forecast is available for D.C.). "The snowiest periods will be in mid- to late November, early and mid- to late January, and mid-March."
