Power Lines Set Trees On Fire In DC (Video)

WASHINGTON, DC — The fierce storms that rolled through the District Monday evening caused some serious problems, including downed power lines in a neighborhood that set trees on fire (video embedded below).

Firefighters responded to the 4400 block of Garrison Street NW along with workers from Pepco in an attempt to de-energize power lines that had come down and set nearby trees on fire.

Less than 15 minutes later, D.C. Fire and EMS reported that the power lines had been de-energized by Pepco, allowing firefighters to attack and extinguish the fire.
