Ryan Zimmerman Opening Restaurant Near Nats Park: Report
The Nationals first baseman, now in his 13th year with the club, appears to be thinking about his future after baseball.
WASHINGTON, DC — A new restaurant is opening near Nationals Park, and it's got a notable co-owner: Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman.
The Salt Line, a New England-inspired ale house, will open this spring at Dock 79, which is located at 79 Potomac Avenue SE, a short distance from the park, according to a Washington City Paper report.
The area around Nats Park has developed slowly since the park opened back in 2008, but restaurants and bars are trickling in and setting up shop.

Zimmerman, who is in his 13th season with the Nats, is partnering with Long Shot Hospitality, which is behind eateries Sixth Engine in downtown and The Dubliner near Union Station.
After spending so much time in D.C., he has deep roots in the area, and he told the City Paper that this may be the future for him as retirement from baseball approaches.
