Second Degree Murder Charges Filed In Mount Pleasant Stabbing
D.C. homicide detectives arrested a Northwest man Sunday in connection with the fatal stabbing of Andrew Tillman in Mount Pleasant.
WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a Northwest man in connection with the fatal stabbing of Andrew Tillman, 38, of no fixed address, in Mount Pleasant, according to a police release.
Officers from the Third District responded around 7:07 p.m., Sunday, to the 3100 block of 16th Street, N.W., where they found Tillman suffering from multiple stab wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported Tillman to a nearby hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries, but all lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.
Police arrested Dedan Williams, 49, of Northwest, and charged him with second degree murder while armed. MPD released Williams' list of prior arrests, which included assault on a police officer, simple assault, shoplifting, distribution of cocaine, and drinking in public.
