WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives with the Youth and Family Services Division, Physical and Sexual Abuse Branch arrested a man Tuesday in connection with a 2018 case of sexual abuse of a minor incident, according to a police release.

In January 2018, the suspect engaged in a sexual act with a minor with whom police say the man had a significant relationship.

Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, detectives arrested Andrew Smith, 37, of Northeast, on March 17, and charged him with first-degree sexual abuse of a minor.
