Sexual Assault Charge Filed Against Silver Spring Man: Police

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives arrested 34-year-old Michael Cox of Silver Spring, Maryland, Tuesday in connection with a sexual assault near Fort Reno Park, according to a police report.

Around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Cox approached the victim in the 3900 block of Chesapeake Street, Northwest, according to police. Armed with a knife, he sexually assaulted the victim, took their property, and then fled the scene.

Police charged Cox with first-degree sexual abuse and armed robbery (knife).
