Sexual Assault Suspect Sought By DC Police

D.C. Police are looking for a suspect in connection with a burglary and sexual assault incident that occurred Friday near Lincoln Park.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives from the Sexual Assault Unit are asking the public's help in identifying a suspect in connection with a burglary and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse offenses that occurred Friday night in the Lincoln Park area, according to a police release.

Police say the suspect approached the victim around 7 p.m., in the 1400 block of South Carolina Ave., S.E., and demanded property. He then forced the victim inside a residence, pointed a handgun, and tried to sexually assault the victim. After taking the victim's property, the suspect fled the scene.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, standing about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7, with a stocky build and medium complexion. He was wearing a dark hooded shirt, gray shoes, and a black face covering. He was armed with a handgun and last seen riding a black bicycle with white handgrips.
