Snow Forecasted For DC On Thanksgiving

We probably won't see much accumulation, but the forecast calls for some flakes on Turkey Day.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Snow on Thanksgiving? That's what the forecast in D.C. calls for on Nov. 23, as well as most of the long weekend.

Not that you should expect a blanket of the white stuff -- it'll be too warm for that with temperatures in the high 40s during the day and just above freezing at night. However, Weather.com projects that D.C. will see a "mixture of rain and snow showers" that night. Farther west in Fairfax County, they could actually get a small amount of accumulation, but that's not expected here.

Rain will continue Friday and Saturday before the sun returns on Sunday.

The Thanksgiving flurries may be the appetizer for what appears likely to be a snowy winter for Virginia.
