Southwest DC's favorite night market is building momentum for a great summer!

On Friday May 31, SW Market welcome the Sol Roots trio to the NightMarket stage. They will be bringing their fusion of raw funk, deep blues, greasy soul, groove jazz, and hypnotic reggae sounds to the corner of 4th and M St SW, directly across from Waterfront Station from 6pm until 9pm.

Market SW has become the beloved neighborhood living room for SWDC residents.
From 4 - 10pm on alternate Fridays through October, the night market has blossomed into a vibrant arts and cultural space, showcasing local artists, crafters, collectors, small businesses, and food trucks. A beer garden, live music, and entertaining activities make it a great Friday event for the local community, and a nice after-work hang-out."

The Sol Roots band performs a mix of New Orleans funk, raw blues, energetic rock, deep
grooves, and southern soul. Sol is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who has toured with many roots, funk, and blues legends around the world as a part of Music Maker Revue.

The Sol Roots band has performed at many premier festivals and venues across the east coast US, and have shared the stage with acts such as Jon Cleary, Soulive, Dumpstaphunk, The Wood
Brothers, Sonny Landreth, Robert Randolph, Eric Lindell, Roosevelt Collier, Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles, Booker T Jones, Walter "Wolfman" Washington, Shemekia Copeland, Jackie Greene and more.

Paying homage to the greats, and with a love of Universal Music as the guiding light, Sol steps out on a path with a powerful group unique and talented band of musicians.

Sol Roots is proud to be an official Home Grown Music Network artist and a "Next Generation" Music Maker Relief Foundation artist.

Sol Roots has also been recognized as "Best Blues Act" of 2019 by Washington Area Music Association (WAMMIES).
