Something In The Water 2022: All You Need To Know About DC Music Fest

Find out how to buy tickets, reserve a shuttle bus seat, avoid traffic, or watch a livestream of the Something in The Water Music Festival.

WASHINGTON, DC — Singer and music producer Pharrell Williams will be bringing his Something in the Water Festival to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. to celebrate Juneteenth weekend.

Tickets are still available for the three-day music festival, but if you're a new high school graduate from D.C. Public Schools, you may already have a ticket waiting for you.

Last Friday, Pharrell announced on Twitter that he and the XQ Institute were setting aside tickets for new high school grads in the District.

"You truly inspired all of us through your resiliency and your ability to learn through a pandemic," the singer said, in a video posted to Twitter. "You deserve to be celebrated and we're gonna. So, on behalf of Something in the Water and XQ Institute, we would like to give each of you one free pass to the festival."

To collect their ticket, all the grad has to do is contact their school leaders, according to Pharrell.

"On Juneteenth weekend, we're going to celebrate with music, art, culture, and most importantly you," he said.

Pharrell & Phriends will be performing along with special guests Clipse, Justin Timberlake, N.O.R.E, Q-Tip, and SZA. Recently announced performers include Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals, bLAck pARty, J Balvin, and 21 Savage. Local groups Bad Brains: A Tribute by Black Dots, TOB and YungManny will also be on hand to represent the District.

A Pop-Up Church Service will be offered from 12 noon to 6 p.m., on Sunday, June 10, on stage at West Potomac Park, home of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. This free celebration will include prayer and gospel offerings, as well as performances by Aaron Moses, Anthony Brown, Howard Gospel Choir, JJ Hairston, Jon Batiste, Kierra Sheard, Ricky Dillard, Tamela Mann, Tamar Braxton, Tim Bowman Jr, Travis Green and Voices of Fire.

Three-day general admission Tier 2 passes are still available for $399.50 each. This purchase includes one general admission entry into the three-day festival and will give you access to all of the general admission areas, including the main lineup, activities, and food vendors.

Attendees can also make donations online to Pharrell's YELLOW Charity, which seeks to end generational poverty by reimagining the future of education.

Shuttle service is available from the festival's previous home of Virginia Beach to Washington, D.C. Attendees can purchase one-way tickets for $50 each or round trip tickets for $95 each. Shuttles depart on Thursday/Friday and return on Sunday/Monday.

For those who can't attend Something in The Water in person, Amazon Music will be live-streaming the festival starting at 3 p.m. ET, on Friday, June 17 via the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and Prime Video. There will be two channels of content for fans to enjoy.

Road Closures and Emergency No Parking Locations

On Monday, Something in the Water 2022 organizers began assembling the stages and erecting structures on and around the National Mall in advance of the three-day festival. Metropolitan Police Department instituted the following closures:

Emergency No Parking Signs were posted Monday morning and will be in effect through 6 a.m., on Tuesday, June 21 on C Street between 4th Street and 6th Street, Southwest.

  • Independence Avenue between 3rd Street and 7th Street, Southwest
  • 3rd Street between Maryland Avenue, NW to C Street, Southwest

Emergency No Parking Signs will be in effect from 8 p.m., on Tuesday, June 14, through 6 a.m., on Tuesday, June 21 on the following streets:

  • Independence Avenue between 7th Street and 9th Street, Southwest
  • 4th Street between Jefferson Drive and Virginia Avenue, Southwest

Emergency No Parking Signs will be in effect from 8 p.m., on Thursday, June 16, through 6 a.m., on Tuesday, June 21 on the following streets:

  • 3rd Street between Pennsylvania Avenue to Maryland Avenue, Northwest

The following streets will be closed or other restrictions will be imposed through 6 a.m., on Tuesday, June 21:

  • Independence Avenue between 3rd Street and 4th Street, Southwest
  • No vehicle traffic will be allowed eastbound on Independence Avenue from 7th Street, Southwest

The following streets will be closed to everyone except for local traffic from 8 p.m., on Tuesday, June 14, through 6 a.m., on Tuesday, June 21:

  • Independence Avenue between 7th Street and 9th Street, Southwest
  • Independence Avenue between 4th Street and 7th Street, Southwest
  • 4th Street between Pennsylvania Avenue, NW and C Street, Southwest

Local traffic is defined as anyone who lives, works or needs access to the area for business-related purposes.

The following streets will be closed from 8 p.m., on Thursday, June 16, through 6 a.m., on Tuesday, June 21:

  • 6th Street between Independence Avenue and Virginia Avenue, Southwest
  • 7th Street between Constitution Avenue and D Street, Southwest
  • Maryland Avenue between 7th Street and 6th Street, Southwest
  • C Street between 7th Street and 9th Street, Southwest
  • 9th Street between Independence Avenue and C Street, Southwest

The following streets will be closed to everyone except for local traffic from 8 p.m., on Thursday, June 16, through 6 a.m., on Tuesday, June 21:

  • C Street between 3rd Street and 2nd Street, Southwest
  • D Street between 4th Street and 2nd Street, Southwest
  • 4th Street between D Street to I Street, Southwest
  • E Street between 7th Street to 2nd Street, Southwest
  • D Street between 7th Street and Virginia Avenue, Southwest
  • School Street between 6th Street to 4th Street, Southwest
  • 2nd Street between Washington Avenue to E Street, Southwest
  • 3rd Street between Independence Avenue to E Street, Southwest
  • Virginia Avenue between 7th Street to 4th Street, Southwest
  • 7th Street between D Street and G Street, Southwest
  • 6th Street between Virginia Avenue and E Street, Southwest

The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic from Friday, June 17, to Sunday, June 19, from 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on each day:

  • Madison Drive between 14th Street to 3rd Street, Northwest
  • Jefferson Drive between 14th Street to 3rd Street, Southwest
  • 3rd Street between Pennsylvania Avenue, Northwest to Independence Avenue, Southwest
  • Pennsylvania Avenue between Constitution Avenue to 3rd Street, Northwest
