Southeast Man Charged In Anacostia Homicide: DC Police
Metropolitan Police Department detectives arrested a Southeast man in connection with the stabbing death of a woman in Anacostia.
WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a Southeast man in connection with the killing of a Southeast woman in Anacostia, according to a police release.
Officers from the Seventh District were dispatched to a residence in the 1900 block of Good Hope Road, S.E., to check on the welfare of an individual. They found an unconscious and unresponsive women suffering from multiple puncture wounds. After examining the victim, D.C. Fire and EMS determined she showed no signs consistent with life. They later transported her to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
MPD identified the decedent as Latasha Estep, 40, of Southeast.

Following an investigation, detectives determined the offense took place inside the residence and was domestic in nature.
Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, officers arrested Cory Lavene Brown, 39, of Southeast, and charged him with second degree murder while armed. At the time of his arrest, Brown was under the supervision of D.C.'s Pretrial Services Agency for a domestic violence-related assault.

The detectives’ investigation revealed that this offense was domestic in nature and occurred inside the residence.
