Southeast Man Charged In Fatal Stabbing: DC Police

Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives arrested a suspect in connection with a Thursday morning stabbing in Dupont Park.

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a suspect in connection with the stabbing death of a Southeast woman Thursday morning in Dupont Park, according to a release. Police identified the deceased victim as 26-year-old Shana Donahue.

Around 6:16 a.m., officers from the Sixth District responded to a residence in the 2900 block of N St., S.E., for the report of an open door. Officers found Donahue suffering from multiple stab wounds and apparent trauma. D.C. Fire and EMS determined Donahue displayed no signs consistent with life. She was transported later to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

MPD arrested Daniel Fleetwood, 26, of Southeast, and charged him with second degree murder while armed. Following an investigation, detectives determined the incident took place inside the residence and was domestic in nature.
