Southeast Man Charged In July 12 Homicide: DC Police
Homicide detectives arrested a Southeast man Wednesday in connection with the July 12 fatal shooting of Gary Swinson of Southeast.
WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a Southeast man Wednesday in connection with the July 12 fatal shooting of Gary Swinson, 34, of Southeast, according to a police release.
Around 10:04 a.m., on July 12, officers from the Seventh District were flagged down in the 3300 block of 15th Street, S.E., for the report of a shooting. They found Swinson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported him to an area hospital, but all life-saving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.
Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant Wednesday, MPD arrested Rodney Pickett, 34, of Southeast, and charged him with second degree murder while armed.
