Southeast Man Fatally Shot Near Residences Of St. Elizabeths East

WASHINGTON, DC — Cedric Williams, 34, of Southeast was found shot to death Friday afternoon near the Residences of St. Elizabeths East, according to police.

Officers from the Seventh District of the Metropolitan Police Department responded around 1:28 p.m. for the report of a shooting at the intersection of Poplar Street and Oak Drive, Southeast. They found Williams suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

D.C. Fire and EMS examined Williams and confirmed that he had died from his injuries. Williams was later taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who supplies information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in the District.
