Southeast Man Victim In Saturday's Fatal Shooting In Parklawn

D.C. homicide detectives identified 47-year-old Marco Thomas of Southeast​ as the victim of Saturday's fatal shooting on Minnesota Avenue.

WASHINGTON, DC — D.C. homicide detectives identified 47-year-old Marco Thomas of Southeast as the victim of a fatal shooting that took place early Saturday morning in the Fairlawn neighborhood

Thomas, who was suffering from gunshot wounds, was found around 2:59 a.m., on Saturday by officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District. They had responded to the 1900 block of Minnesota Avenue, Southeast for the report of a shooting.

Emergency medical personnel examined Thomas and determined that he had died from his wounds. He was later taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who supplies information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in the District.

Anyone with information about Thomas' death is asked to call MPD at 202-727-9099. Anonymous tips may be submitted via the department's text tip line by texting a message to 50411.
