Person of Interest Sought in Fatal Deanwood Metro Stabbing

The fatal stabbing took place around 11 p.m. Monday.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Police are asking the public's assistance in locating a person of interest in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred at Deanwood Metro station on Monday, police said in a press release.

The incident, in the 4700 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast occurred just before 11 a.m. A teen, who has not been identified, was reportedly killed in the stabbing. 

The person of interest is described as a black male between 14-20-years-old with a medium build, dreadlocks and braces. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black jacket.

"[He] was a young kid with a lot of potential...very smart kid with a bright future,"Dr. Marco Clark, the head of Richard Wright Public Charter School told WUSA-9 when describing the victim.

Police offer a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
