Suitland Man Shot To Death In Benning Ridge: Police

D.C. homicide detectives are investigating the April 9 fatal shooting of a Suitland, Maryland man in the Benning Ridge area of the District.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that took place last Thursday in the Benning Ridge area, according to a police release.

Around 5:15 p.m., officers from the Sixth District responded to the 1200 block of 44th Place, S.E., for the report of a shooting. Arriving on the scene, they found an unconscious male suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS took the victim to a nearby hospital to be treated. All efforts to save his life failed and he was pronounced dead.

Police identified the decedent as Taejuan King, 19, of Suitland, Maryland.
