Suspect Sought In Assault On Police Officer At US Capitol

D.C. police are looking for the man they say is responsible for trapping a police officer in a door jam at the U.S. Capitol.

WASHINGTON, DC — One of the most disturbing images to emerge from the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol by pro-Trump supporters is video of Officer Daniel Hodges of the Metropolitan Police Department being crushed against a door jam by protesters.

MPD is now asking the public's help in locating the man they say assaulted Hodges and used a clear police shield to pin Hodges in the doorway, according to a police release.

Police released the following photos of the suspect captured on a camera:

Anyone with information about this individual or incident is asked to contact the Metropolitan Police Department. (MPD)

Anyone who recognizes this individual or has knowledge about this incident is asked to take no action and contact police at 202-727-9099 or text a tip to 50411. Crime Solvers of Washington, D.C. is currently offering a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of individuals responsible for a crime committed in the District.

In addition, members of the public may contact the FBI’s Toll-Free Tipline at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) to verbally report tips. Include a reference to #62 AFO- Subject if providing information about the individual who attacked Hodges. The public may also submit any information, photos, or videos about this incident online at fbi.gov/USCapitol or contact their local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate
