Team USA Olympians Invade DC [VIDEO]

The athletes who dominated the 2016 Rio Olympics will be visiting the White House Thursday.

WASHINGTON, DC — Team USA crushed the competition at the Rio 2016 Olympics, and they're in D.C. this week to be honored yet again with a White House visit and an awards ceremony.

The U.S. Olympic Committee announced the 2016 winners for the Team USA Awards, "Best of the Games," at Georgetown University's McDonough Arena in a ceremony Sept. 28. The winners included Katie Ledecky for female athlete of the Olympics, Michael Phelps for male athlete of the Olympics, and the U.S. Women's Gymnastic Team for team of the Olympics. Tatyana McFadden won female athlete for the paralympics, Brad Snyder the male athlete and the U.S. Women's Sitting Volleyball Team for the best team.

In addition, the U.S. Olympic Committee awarded its inaugural Jesse Owens Olympic Spirit Award posthumously to Muhammad Ali, the boxing legend who died earlier this year.

The awards ceremony will be televised on NBCSN on Oct. 4 at 10 p.m. Hundreds of athletes were on hand for the awards show.

The athletes will be making a trip to the White House on Thursday.
