Teen Charged With First-Degree Murder In Fatal Shooting Of 15-Year-Old

WASHINGTON, DC — D.C. homicide detectives charged a 16-year-old boy in connection with the fatal shooting Monday night of 15-year-old Malachi Jackson of Northwest, according to a police release.

Acting on a D.C. Superior Court custody order on Tuesday, members of Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested the 16-year-old boy from Northwest. He was then taken to the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch, where he was charged with first-degree murder while armed, according to police.

Police found Jackson suffering from gunshot wounds, after being called to the 3000 block of 13th Street, Northwest, around 10:50 p.m. on a report of a shooting.

Emergency medical personnel examined Jackson and determined that he had died from his injuries. His body was later taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
